If you’ve ever called or emailed us, chances are you’ve interacted with one of the outstanding individuals who make up Kyanite Mining Company’s small, yet mighty Fulfillment Team.

Meet Scotty Edwards, our Domestic Fulfillment Director, Javannah Taylor, our Export Fulfillment Director, and Taylor Agee, our Sales Assistant! Each plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our company, products, and most importantly, our customers’ experiences.

We sat down with Scotty, Javannah, and Taylor to get an inside look at their roles, memorable customer interactions, and what they enjoy outside of work. Let's dive in!

What does a typical day look like for you on the customer fulfillment team?

Scotty: There is no typical day in my position because something unexpected always pops up!

Javannah: We don’t really have a typical day. Depending on the day, you might find us taking and entering orders, fielding customer complaints, helping with accounts receivables, doing lab work, and anything in between!

Taylor: My typical day involves entering orders, invoicing, and sending booking requests for orders shipping overseas.

What is the most common question or request you receive from customers?

Scotty: Since I handle domestic orders, a lot of my customers will wait until the last minute to order the material they need. So, my most common question is “Can this ship tomorrow?”

Javannah: I work with exports, so this can vary depending on customer location, but we are constantly asked for quotes and for the earliest ETA possible.

Can you share a memorable customer interaction or an unusual request you've received from a customer?

Scotty: I once had a purchaser I've worked with for years who forgot to send an important purchase order. When she realized, she was in a panic. Fortunately, we had the material in stock, and I arranged for a truck to pick it up the same day. A few days later, I received a package from her in the mail. It was an insulated tumbler with 'You're Amazing' on it.

Javannah: I have a customer in Mexico who never fails to brighten my day. He checks in regularly, and we often share photos of our families. His genuine care always brings a smile to my face.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Scotty: My co-workers, most definitely! We have a terrific work family, and we have a lot of fun together. And if I had to pick something about my work, it would be the fact that I’m constantly learning something new because management trusts me to take on new projects outside of my comfort zone.

Javannah: I have the opportunity to speak with people all over the world, all while residing in my little hometown. I thoroughly enjoy the relationships that I have built with my customers. They make my job so fulfilling!

Taylor: I enjoy working with Javannah and Scotty. We make a great team and are always willing to help each other out.

What's your favorite way to unwind after work?

Scotty: My favorite way to relax is to read a book and I read a lot! I also enjoy going to high school football and baseball games to watch my son coach.

Javannah: I have a daughter who turns 2 in August, so I don’t know what the word ‘unwind’ means anymore…  But if I had the chance, I would enjoy catching up on shows and cleaning our house in peace and quiet!

Taylor: Spending time with my son and family.
