We care deeply about the mountains and land where we live, work, and play. Most of our team members were born in this area and are raising families here. We are dedicated to returning the land we mine to its natural, stable, productive state.

Did you know that the average American requires over 40,000 pounds of newly mined minerals every year? Extracting minerals from the earth is one of humanity’s oldest and most critical endeavors. While producing these minerals is essential, it’s not all that Kyanite Mining Corporation does. Kyanite Mining Corporation and other mining leaders are paving the way for innovative resource management practices and cutting-edge pollution control technology. We are proud to be at the forefront of these crucial industry practices.

Environmental Commitment

Kyanite Mining Corporation is committed to caring for the land we mine and returning it to its natural environment. We work to restore mined land to conditions that enhance the ecological state of the area for miles around. We are dedicated to sound pollution control and resource recovery practices—we work to use or sell as much of the material that we extract as possible.

Reclamation

We take reclamation seriously and ensure that it is integrated into every phase of the mining process. Kyanite Mining Corporation takes great care to make sure that many acres of the reclaimed mine land are set aside and managed as wildlife habitats. These areas are now home for native species including white tail deer, bob-white quail, turkey, rabbits, and hawks. In recognition of this commitment, Kyanite Mining Corporation has won several state and national environmental stewardship awards, the most notable of which is for the work completed at our original mine site, Baker Mountain.
